Ace

“Ace” is a 9yr old, 14.2hh, QH gelding with a beautiful blue roan coat. Ace is in your pocket type of dude, who is a total packer on the trails. He is safe, sweet, honest and a really good friend. Whether you are looking for a trust worthy trail mount, or to dabble in ring work, Ace is your boy!  Ace has a very bubbly, silly, expressive personality. He is very gentle to work around and safe for kids and beginners to work with. He will stand on the cross ties all day long to be groomed, bathed, braided, loved on, tacked, etc. He has zero bad habits in the barn and can live in or out. He gets along with others in the pasture and walks up to you in the pasture. Ace has wonderful manners on the ground and can be fully handled by novice riders. He doesn’t mind dogs running all around him. Ace is independent and not buddy sour. He is extremely easy to have around. On the trails, Ace will lead, follow, go alone, and in groups. He has acted as a guest horse for me, packing around beginners and kids on the trails. He is brave, willing, confident and super laid back. Drop the reins and let him follow or ask him to go first through the scary obstacles, he will take care of his rider. He is safe with traffic, bikes, hikers, dogs, walking through crowds, wildlife, you name it. We have been attacked by bees and horseflies and this dude kept a good attitude and did not react, even when two riders including his own rider got stung. Ace crosses bridges, big or small. Loves to play in the water, and crosses logs, rocks, and other trail obstacles. I would trust putting anyone on Ace for a safe, relaxing trail ride. He is also a great size for mounting while trail riding, you don’t need a step! Ace has a history of trail riding, and many trail miles under his belt. Ace would make the BEST camping partner!!!  Ace rides western, english, and bareback. His gaits are comfortable and adjustable. Even though Ace’s main job has been trail riding, he will happily do arena work! Ace is easy going in the ring, yet willing to go to work when asked, making him a great balance of whoa and go. Ace neck reins, pivots, moves laterally off of leg, has a great whoa, backs up, and will do little obstacles. He has “buttons” but is still beginner friendly as his buttons are subtle.  In the ring, Ace will walk, jog, trot, canter, pop over small fences and he is a beautiful mover! He knows his leads, and will ride collected or on the buckle. I even rode him with just a neck rope and he was a good boy. I am working on teaching Ace to slow jog and then also move out into a nice trot, making him versatile for both western and english! He would be an awesome candidate for ranch classes, trail courses, western or classical dressage and more! Ace is willing to pop over small fences, I have not done a ton of jumping with him but he has been honest and easy over fences. He could easily carry on a carrier over fences with more time doing it, he seems to enjoy it! With how quiet he is on the trails and willing to jump, I could see Ace going out and being a super star with fox hunting!  I took Ace to a cow show, rodeo night. I used him in the Team sorting and he did amazing. He was great with the crowds and commotion and hung out with everyone in lawn chairs when we rested. He was totally unbothered by everything and we had such a fun time! I also had a rogue steer appear at my farm, so I hopped on Ace and gathered it to a pasture, then used Ace to herd the steer onto my trailer so that I could find its home.  Ace is a really cool all around horse. Use him for shows then throw your kids or husband on him for trail rides. Use him as a guest horse like myself. He is full of opportunities in every discipline, and turns heads where he goes with his beautiful coat. He is definitely a barn favorite here, and if it were up to everyone, he would just stay right here. Unfortunately I need to downsize on my trail horses for the winter with the kids going back to school etc. Here is your opportunity to scoop up your next family horse. And don’t let his size fool you, he is built very stout, he takes up leg well. The blonde rider in the videos is 5’7 with long legs. I feel very comfortable on him!  Ace is a very easy keeper. Simple diet, no maintenance, does not care if he is inside or outside. He never complains and never asks for anything. You can forget that he is in the barn, that’s how quiet he is. He is good for the farrier and vet, and can go barefoot or wear shoes. He loads and trailers great, and ties to the trailer patiently while you get ready. Anyone can lead him in for breakfast, he does not get pushy or rude. I really appreciate having this gelding around as I can trust that he is going to be good for kids and beginners to handle. Whether you are looking for a trusty trail partner, family horse, show horse, or just an all around best friend, Ace will be your boy! He is ready for his next adventure!
