“Nova” is a 14yr old, 15.2hh, Percheron/Standardbred cross mare. This girl has quite literally the best of both worlds. From a quiet mind, to a beautiful build! Here is a horse that absolutely loves trail riding, and will ride out in groups and solo. She will play around in the arena as well. Nova would make the BEST camping partner. ​ In the barn, Nova has absolutely zero bad habits. She never makes a peep, never asks for anything and just minds her own business. She is a sweet horse, and loves being groomed and loved on. She was a little bashful her first day with me, but we quickly became great friends and I adore this wise girl. Talk about simple, easy to ride, easy to take care of, easy to have around, with zero drama. Nova stands on the cross ties to be groomed, bathed, tacked, etc. She is good for the vet and farrier. Nova is gentle to work around and picks up her feet nicely. She has good ground manners and can be handled by a beginner. She doesn’t mind dogs running around her. Nova is barefoot with zero maintenance or health issues. She loads and trailers well. Nova goes out in the pasture with other horses and does her own thing. She does not get attached to other horses. She will walk up to you if you have treats or it’s feeding time, but if you go out to catch her empty handed she might take a few steps in the other direction at first. She is always at the gate waiting to be brought in, in the morning. ​ On the trails, Nova will lead, follow, go alone and in groups. She is independent and doesn’t need buddies with her to enjoy the ride. She goes down the trails as straight as an arrow, she LOVES adventures and takes care of her rider. Nova will go up, under, through, down, over, anything you point her at. If you need a trustworthy horse, here she is. She crosses water, logs, rocks, etc. Nova has a lovely walk speed, where you aren’t bumping her to go every five seconds. She is the perfect combo of whoa and go, leisure yet not a dead head. Nova would be the perfect camping partner for someone who needs a horse that is happy to go out trail riding several days in a row. She is always ready for your next adventure!! ​ Nova will gladly do ring work if you’d like. Are you the type of person that doesn’t like cantering? Nova simply does not canter, she is not made nor bred to canter. She is a walk, trot horse and no, she is not gaited. Instead of cantering she will just trot faster. If you have a fear of cantering, this is the horse for you. Trust me, I tried to canter her and she would not. If you are looking for a future Olympian, this girl ain’t for you. Nova just needs a rider to enjoy her for who she is. She will walk, trot, and pop over small jumps. She is considered green in the ring but honest and does what you ask.  Nova is here to please her rider, she thrives for reward and being told that she is a good girl. She is a very wise and intelligent mare, who wants to make her rider happy. It’s in her breeding. She learns very fast!! 

​ This sweet lady deserves the best. She longs for a gentle hand, and will do anything for the people that she loves. Nova is ready to be someone’s trusty partner, to explore with, and share a bond. She is the same horse every ride and has no silly business.
